Youth Programs
The Richmond Parks & Recreation Department offers programs for kids from 4 to 18 years old. With so many different sports and activities your child is sure to find something rewarding and fun to try.
Some of the youth activities include:
- American Red Cross Babysitting Clinic
- Baseball/Softball, offered in late spring through early summer to boys and girls 4 to 15 yrs. old.
- Basketball, offered in the winter to boys and girls grades 2-7.
- Cheerleading for basketball, offered in the winter to girls grades K-7.
- Flag Football, offered in the fall to boys and girls 5-10 years old.
- Soccer, offered in spring to boys and girls 4-14 years old.
- Volleyball, offered in the fall to girls 2nd grade-7th grade years old.
- Swim Team, offered in the summer to boys and girls 4-18 years old that know how to swim.
- Maya Zahira School of Belly Dance Work Shop (e-mail haley for more information).
- Dog Obedience Classes for dogs and their owners.
- Lil' Hoopsters (instructional basketball), offered during late fall to boys and girls K-2
- Swim lessons, offered during the summer
Youth Scolarship Assistance
Applications for assistance for youth program fees are available at the Recreation office and at the City Collector's office.
